CCL28

CCL28, also known as C - C motif chemokine 28, is also commonly referred to as mucosae - associated epithelial chemokine (MEC). It plays a key role in immune cell trafficking, attracting IgA - plasmablasts, memory T cells, and eosinophils. CCL28 exerts its effects by binding to the chemokine receptors CCR3 and CCR10, activating downstream signaling pathways like the PI3K - AKT and MAPK pathways.
Regarding related diseases, CCL28 is involved in inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, and certain types of cancer. In drug development, there are ongoing efforts to design antagonists targeting CCL28 and its receptors to modulate immune responses and treat these associated diseases.
