CD1A

CD1A, also known as CD1a protein, is a lipid-presenting molecule predominantly expressed on Langerhans cells. It plays a crucial role in antigen processing and presentation to T lymphocytes, particularly in innate immune responses. CD1A interacts with a variety of lipid antigens, including self-lipids and exogenous lipids, and is involved in the activation of T cells, particularly TH17 cells. This protein is associated with various inflammatory skin diseases, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and has been identified as a potential therapeutic target for these conditions.
