CDCP1

CDCP1, CUB structural domain-containing protein 1, alias CD318, UNQ2486, PRO5773, is encoded by the human CDCP1 gene. CDCP1 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein located mainly on the cell surface and is involved in several key signaling pathways for tumorigenesis and metastasis, including SRC/PKCd, PI3K/AKT, WNT and RAS/ERK pathways, and fatty acid oxidation, which are important for cancer cell survival, growth, metastasis, and resistance to therapy.
The mechanism of action of CDCP1 involves interactions with a wide range of cancer-associated proteins and plays a role in tumor markers and potential therapeutic targets. CDCP1 is overexpressed in a wide range of malignant tumors, including respiratory tumors, digestive cancers, hematological malignancies and genitourinary cancers, correlates with tumor prognosis and drug resistance, and is considered a promising therapeutic target and new diagnostic biomarker.
