DLK1

DLK1, also known as Delta-like 1 homolog, is a transmembrane protein with common aliases including pG2 and FA1. It functions by interacting with Notch receptors, influencing cell fate determination and differentiation. DLK1 is involved in the Notch signaling pathway, which is crucial for normal development and tissue homeostasis.
Alterations in DLK1 have been associated with various diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and certain cancers. Regarding drug development, research is ongoing to target DLK1 and its related pathways. Some strategies aim to modulate its activity to treat the associated conditions, yet significant progress is still awaited.
