This tag-free human BDNF, covering the full mature protein (aa 129–247), demonstrates strong TrkB engagement with an EC50 of ≤20 ng/mL in a functional binding ELISA, supporting use in receptor-ligand interaction studies, competition assays, and neuronal survival or differentiation experiments. Because BDNF is not glycosylated in its mature form, E. coli expression yields a product that is structurally equivalent to the native ligand while enabling cost-effective production at high homogeneity.
