Description
RBP4 serves as the principal carrier of retinol in circulation, and its interaction with transthyretin (TTR) stabilizes the complex to prevent renal filtration—making validated binding activity essential for meaningful in vitro studies. This recombinant human RBP4 (aa 19–201, full-length mature protein) demonstrates confirmed TTR-binding capacity with an EC50 of 695.0–970.1 ng/ml in functional ELISA, providing a suitable basis for ligand-binding assays, cargo-release studies, and structural or biophysical characterization of the RBP4–TTR axis. The C-terminal hFc1 tag facilitates oriented immobilization, supporting use as an ELISA standard or in antibody development campaigns targeting RBP4 in cancer-related research contexts. Purity exceeding 90% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for drug-protein binding studies and membrane transporter functional assays where both conformational integrity and low background interference are critical.
