Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Integrin alpha-4/beta-7 (Peyer patches-specific homing receptor LPAM-1) is involved in adhesive interactions of leukocytes. It is a receptor for fibronectin and recognizes one or more domains within the alternatively spliced CS-1 region of fibronectin. Integrin alpha-4/beta-7 is also a receptor for MADCAM1 and VCAM1. It recognizes the sequence L-D-T in MADCAM1. Integrin alpha-E/beta-7 is a receptor for E-cadherin.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Loss of MAdCAM-1 has beneficial effects regarding the development of NASH - manifested by reduced hepatic oxidative stress and decreased inflammation. In contrast, beta7-Integrin-deficiency results in increased steatohepatitis. PMID:28192190
  2. Glycosylation of V1V2 domain of HIV envelope protein determined its binding to alpha4ss7 integrin. PMID:28577856
  3. beta7 integrin, when expressed by hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), interacted with its endothelial ligand MAdCAM-1 in the Bone marrow microenvironment, thereby promoting HSC homing and engraftment. PMID:26422691
  4. CCR9 and Integrin-beta7 expression has a differential effect on graft fate during acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) of the liver depending on the GVHD target tissue. PMID:26348893
  5. The E-cadherin beta-7 integrin pathway probably controls migration of enterocytes within the small intestinal surface lining epithelial layer. PMID:25684940
  6. alpha4beta7 serves as an attachment factor for some HIV-1 strains. PMID:25527342
  7. KLF3 acts as transcriptional repressor for the leukocyte-specific integrin beta7 (Itgb7, Ly69) by binding to the beta7 promoter, as revealed by chromatin immunoprecipitation. PMID:25015818
  8. Mice lacking beta7 integrins in the innate immune compartment are more susceptible to intestinal inflammation, which is correlated with a requirement of beta7 integrins to reconstitute gut mononuclear phagocytes with tolerogenic potential. PMID:24030488
  9. beta7 integrin expression on cells of the innate immune system contributes to the critical role of beta7 integrin in the process of B cell tolerance. PMID:22710445
  10. lack of alpha4beta7 or E-selectin significantly reduced trafficking of CD4 T cells to the GT of mice infected with C. muridarum. PMID:19392981
  11. gene knock-outs display defective contact hypersensitivity responses due to impaired t cell migration to skin PMID:21047673
  12. Strong positive reactions for integrin beta7 are seen on the uterine natural killer cell surface from gestational days 8 to 10, mainly on those cells found near the blood vessels, becoming completely negative after the twelfth gestational day. PMID:20201059
  13. beta(7) integrins play an essential role in spontaneous chronic ileitis in vivo by promoting homing of disease-exacerbating B cells to mesenteric lymph nodes and other intestinal tissues PMID:20926792
  14. Studies with knockout mice show beta7 Integrin expression is not required for the localization of T cells to the intestine and colitis pathogenesis. IL-2 knockout mice crossed with beta7 knockouts did not get colitis. PMID:12100020
  15. Beta7 integrins contribute to skin graft rejection, in accord with their role in mediating the epidermotropism of T-cells during skin inflammation. PMID:12438975
  16. not essential for the control of infection in mice but beta7-deficient neonatal mice are more susceptible during the early stages of Cryptosporidium parvum infection. PMID:15155674
  17. quasi-palindromic sequence YDRREY within the beta7 cytoplasmic tail constitutes a cell adhesion regulatory domain that modulates the interaction of beta7-expressing leukocytes with their endothelial and epithelial ligands PMID:16874740
  18. Only T cells activated in mesenteric LN after dendritic cell adoptive transfer expressed high levels of alpha(4)beta(7), which also correlated with localization to small intestine. These alpha(4)beta(7)(high) cells also redistributed to mediastinal LN PMID:17237400
  19. Demonstrate development of intestinal inflammation in Tnf(DeltaARE) mice is critically dependent on beta7 integrin-mediated T-lymphocyte recruitment. the function of the CCL25/CCR9 axis appears dispensable in this model. PMID:18439426
  20. Integrin alpha4beta7 plays a redundant role in localizing fetal lymphoid tissue inducer cells to the small intestine, and has a nonessential role in cryptopatch formation in neonatal mice. PMID:18768861
  21. analysis of the migfilin-filamin interaction and competition with integrin beta 7 tails PMID:18829455
  22. functional analysis of Integrin beta7 indicated that Integrin beta7 may be associated with retinal ganglion cell death. PMID:19743418
