Description
ACE2 serves as both a critical carboxypeptidase in the renin-angiotensin system and the primary receptor for SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, making it a high-value target for cardiovascular and infectious disease research. This recombinant human ACE2 fragment (residues 18–740) carries a C-terminal 6×His tag positioned away from the catalytic domain, preserving the enzymatic active site for accurate kinetic parameter analysis including Km, Vmax, and kcat determination. BLI validation confirms that the protein binds the 2019-nCoV spike RBD with a KD of 2.06 nM, supporting its use in inhibitor screening, IC50 determination, and drug candidate evaluation targeting the ACE2–spike interaction. Produced in mammalian cells, it provides appropriate glycosylation and folding, while purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfy the quality thresholds commonly required for substrate specificity profiling, enzymatic activity assays, and structural studies such as cryo-EM.
